Johnny Depp will make an unaccredited cameo in the new 21 Jump Street movie, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The original series, 21 Jump Street aired on the Fox network from 1987-1991. Channing Tatum, Dave Franco, and Jonah Hill will star in the re-make movie.

Tatum will play Officer Tom Hanson (Depp’s role on the TV show), who will go undercover as a high school student to fight youth crime- just like the TV series!

No word on the character Depp will play in the movie.

During an interview last year with Entertainment Weekly, Johnny stated, “Someone will say, ‘Whatever happened to Tom Hanson?’ and they’ll find me somewhere hoarding jars of peanut butter and shaking in my underpants”.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides opens in theaters on May 20, 2011!

Johnny Depp has been busily working on the fourth installment of “Pirates of the Caribbean”.  Johnny was in character as Captain Jack Sparrow on the set of  ”Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides“, in London, England on Tuesday (September 28).

‘Tides’ is currently in production and has been slated for a May 20, 2011 release date.

Johnny is also now being rumored to be reuniting with Gore Verbinski (director of “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End“) in an animated remake of “The Lone Ranger“.

Until then, we can’t wait to see “On Stranger Tides”!  How about you?

A rather unusual teaser trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides was recently shown at Comic-Con this year (watch below).

The fourth installment of Pirates is sure not to disappoint, despite the departures of Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly.  This installment, however will introduce exciting new characters and of course, this one is all about our most favorite pirate of all, Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp).

In the two-minute teaser, Sparrow denied that he would be searching for the “Fountain of Youth” while facing, “varied and substantial dangers along the way, including but not limited to zombies, cutthroats, mermaids, and the vicious and vivacious Penelope Cruz.”

The cast and crew are currently filming in Hawaii.

Pirates 4 is due to be released on May 20, 2011 in theatres, and in Disney Digital 3D and IMAX 3D!

Johnny Depp is the latest celebrity supporter of the ‘West Memphis Three”, which is three young men who were convicted of killing three young boys in 1993.

Depp, recently sat down for an interview with “48 Hours Mystery”, which will air this Saturday (February 27). Depp defends the three young men, he says, “Every single piece of evidence points to their innocence, not to their guilt.”

The ‘three’ men are Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley, and they were convicted of murder after three eight-year-old boys. The children were found naked and drowned in a creek in West Memphis, Arkansas.

Then-17-year-old Misskelley, who was mentally handicapped, confessed to police that he had joined Echols and Baldwin in killing the three boys. But, apparently, officers had kept Misskelley in a room for many many hours drilling him for information. But, now new DNA evidence points away from the young men, according to “48 Hours.”

It is said that at the time of finding the young boys bodies, an officer stated then that it looked like Echols was responsible (Echols had longer hair and wore mostly black clothing at the time). “I think I was the closest thing he could come to conceiving of what he thought a Satanist would look like,” Damien told reporter Erin Moriarty, going on to explain of his mode of dress, “I didn’t help myself at all. I would dress in all black, was the only thing I ever wore. Ridiculous hairstyles — I was a stupid teenager. I really was a smartass.”

In the interview, Depp stated:

“I immediately related to Damien, what he went through growing up. I come from a relatively small town in Kentucky. I can remember kind of being looked upon as a freak, if you will, different, because I didn’t dress like everybody else. Also, I can empathize with being judged for how you look rather than being who you are.”

“There was a need for swift justice at the time to placate, understandably, an angry and frightened community,” but says that the time for action in defense of the three young men is now: “People need to stand up and say, ‘Yeah, it’s time to find the real killers. Let’s find justice.’”

Echols is currently on death row and faces execution. But when asked if he believes he will walk away from death row one day, Echols replies, “Yes, I do. I belive that with all my heart … I don’t believe that everyone is just gonna sit on their hands and allow them to execute an innocent person.”

Johnny was just recently presented with a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Movie Actor of the Decade.
 
And we must say it, Johnny is looking good!

Johnny Depp received the award of Favorite Male Actor, however because Depp had received more votes than any other actor ever, he was awarded the Favorite Movie Actor Of The Decade award at the 2010 People’s Choice Awards  last night, January 6 in Los Angeles.
 
Borat actor Sacha Baron Cohen presented Johnny with his award.  But, he introduced him as Mr. Jonathan Depp.  Johnny’s birth name is not Jonathan but John (Johnny is a nickname).  I would think most people would want to be introduced for an award by their correct name.  But, Johnny seemed very gracious and thanked Cohen for not making jokes about him.  Then he gave his speech:

“I’m deeply humbled by this honor….it has been quite an amazing decade. An incredible ride and I sincerely thank you all for bestowing upon me all your great treasures. Thank you.”

Congratulations Johnny! You are an amazing actor and totally deserve your win!

Just who is the sexiest man alive?  Well, according to People magazine, that would be none other than……. Mr. Johnny Depp!

And I can honestly say- I do not disagree with what-so-ever!

Johnny, who has starred in 3 installments of Pirates of the Caribbean, has another one coming out in 2011, as we have previously reported.  The 4th installment will be called Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Nicolas Cage is in serious financial trouble.

Two of the actor’s homes in New Orleans’ French Quarter and Garden District have been auctioned off today due to unpaid mortgages.

 A 13,000 square-foot French colonial home at 2523 Prytania Street, listed for sale this spring for $3.4 million, was sold for $2.2 million. The other home, the allegedly haunted LaLaurie Mansion on Royal Street in the French quarter, sold for $2.3 million, after being listed for $3.55 million. The city will extract roughly $151,729 in unpaid taxes from the proceeds of the sale, said Lea Young, a spokeswoman for the New Orleans Civil Sheriff.

It is reported that Nic owes the IRS $6.3 million in back taxes.

According to the Daily Express, good friend Johnny Depp is digging into his own pockets to help Nic out.

A source says, “Johnny called Nic and basically told him not to worry and he’d help him and sort everything out. Johnny feels he owes his career to Nic and now wants to repay him – if Nic agrees.”

Just an FYI- It was Nic Cage who sent Johnny to his agent when he was a struggling actor, in which landed him his first big gig- A Night mare on Elm Street!

Meanwhile, Cage is suing his former business manager, Samuel Levin, for $20 million, claiming bad advice and management caused his financial troubles.
