Nicole Richie, 28, and Joel Madden, 30, are getting married!

Madden took to his Twitter:

“Yep. i’m engaged. Very happy. Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while so your all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same.”

“P.s. thats why i love my family and friends. None of them are sources. All good tight lipped people who let us enjoy it! Thanks everybody”

The couple have been together for more than three years and have two children, a daughter Harlow, 2, and son Sparrow, 5 months.

Congratulations to the happy couple!  We are so happy for you and your children!

Nicole Richie has been released from the hospital and is back home with her family.

As we previously reported, Nicole was hospitalized for pneumonia.
 
Boyfriend Joel Madden wrote on his website for his band, Good Charlotte.

“So I stepped off the plane after a month out of the country, and basically went straight to the hospital for the week. But don’t worry all is well and we are home with no problems. I was supposed to go into the studio a finish the last few vocals for the record, but that had to wait. Family first.”

Joel and Nicole have been together since 2006 and have 2 children together.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden welcome their second child, a bouncing baby boy!

“In the middle of night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009, Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden,” Nicole wrote on her website today. “He weighs 7lbs 14oz. Nicole, Joel, Harlow [their 19-month-old daughter] and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all of your good wishes.”

As we previously reported, Joel announced, on his band’s website, that he and Nicole, were expecting again. “What’s better than winning an Oscar?” he wrote. “I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister!”

And today, at approximately 11:35 am PST, Joel took to Twitter to write:

“Geuss who’s back…..http://bit.ly/TwxOO Oh i’m sorry we were only having a little baby boy.”

And again at 1:30 pm PST:

Nicole and Joel have been together since 2006, but have no immediate plans to wed.

Joel Madden was boarding a British Airways flight from London to Lisbon on Saturday evening, in which he now claims he was ordered to hide his tats or stay in the U.K.

“Was just told by a british air person I can’t get on the plane till I cover my tatts,” Joel writes on Twitter. “I really actually am in shock he won’t let me on the plane till I put long sleeves on and other BA rep is disagreeing.”

Joel told the employee it was discrimination and threatened to write a nasty letter. “The guy was literally disgusted by me,” he says.

In the end, however, he conceded, put on a long-sleeved shirt and boarded the flight:

“yes i covered up to board the BA flight,” Joel wrote. “I didn’t want to miss it. And honestly I was embarrrassed all the people were staring and laughing! Its not in the rules that I can find. My tatts arent offensive. I havent felt this small since the first time i asked nic out.”

Richie is livid as well, writing on her Twitter, “all of @joelmadden ‘s tattos are spiritual. Since when is expressing your love for God & family against what British Airways stands for?”

“British Airways has no policy against tattoos at all,” a rep for the airline states. “The only dress policy is that people dress appropriately. There’s absolutely no prohibition of tattoos.”

The rep adds that the staff member involved in Madden’s mishap “is being spoken to.”

Okay, “being spoken to”?  Oh c’mon BA!! This was major discrimination and was wrong.  And Joel handled this very maturely.  Joel is owed a formal apology and that employee needs more than a speaking to!

Zac Efron just released a video on FunnyorDie.com.  It is funny, crazy, ans wacky.

Appearances in the video include, Vanessa Hudgens, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, Carmen Electra, Lance Bass, Brody Jenner, Jessica Stroup, Brittany Snow and Queen Latifah are among the stars who join Efron in the video. “A lot of people did it because they want to hang out with Zac,” 17 Again producer Adam Shankmen, who co-directed the clip, states. “It is the craziest group of people.”

In the video, a lot of things are going on, Efron’s “Uncle Hank” (Tom Lennon) tells him he “smells like waffles,” Bass proudly shares that he has been able to “not Google himself” for over a week, and Madden starts talking marriage with Richie.

Even though Efron was the star, he didn’t act like a big shot, says Shankman. “Zac was blown away that we could put it together and he was really, deeply grateful. If you want to know what kind of people Zac and Vanessa are … I turned around and Vanessa was taking out the garbage and Zac was doing the dishes. They have no entitlement issues, it’s all for one and one for all. Nothing is taken for granted.” 

Shankman  says, “The media forces us to take our lives so serious but we know we’re not curing cancer so we might as well make people laugh, we’re entertainers,” he explains. “It’s cool because everyone knows we’re not getting paid, so there are no egos.”

Nicole Richie and partner Joel Madden announced that baby number two is on the way!

Joel posted an entry entitled, “Better than winning an OSCAR!”, on the official Good Charlotte blog. 

It said: “What’s better than winning an Oscar? I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister! God has truly blessed my family. Hope your all feeling as good as i am right now………”

Joel Madden, Good Charlotte front man,  posted a message on his Web site declaring, “WE DID IT!! NICOLE AND I FINALLY GOT MARRIED!! Click here for the pictures!!”  “HAHA. JUST KIDDING”. Joel was responding to a a report from last week’s Star claiming he and Nicole Richie were planning to get hitched at the end of the month in a $2 million, three-day blowout celebration.

“So I feel really stupid even posting this, but I’ve been getting calls and texts from my family all week asking me why they weren’t invited to my wedding,” explained Madden. “I guess the only answer I could give them was that I didn’t know we were having one!” 

Joel says, “Sooooo if you were pissed at me for not inviting you or even telling you, don’t blame me, there’s nothing to worry about. It’s just Star magazine. How long do you think it will be before they write we called it off, or we broke up? I give them a week or two …”
