Heidi Montag , 23, filed for legal separation from husband Spencer Pratt at a Santa Monica courthouse on Tuesday (May 8), citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
Montag has not filed divorce papers, as of yet. Basically the filing of the separation papers means Heidi’s earnings will become her separate property beginning on the date of separation, which she lists as June 8. The papers do not list a lawyer.
Montag says she moved out of the Pacific Palisades, Calif., home she shared with Pratt and she needed her space and time away from everyone, including her husband. Montag has moved in with her friend, Jen Bunney. The two will be filming a reality show.
But Montag’s Hills castmates are skeptical about the split and thinks this is just another publicity stunt.
