This elimination night was extremely important to the contestants of American Idol. With the elimination of the 11th person, it meant that it was the top 10 who goes out on the summer tour this year. Which we all know is a huge opportunity for all the contenders.
Tuesday night’s (March 24) show started things off with host, Ryan Seacrest choosing 2 of the bottom 3 to be separated from the group, which was Paige Miles and Tim Urban.
Miley Cyrus then took the stage and sang her song, “, When I Look at You”, from her upcoming movie, “The Last Song”. Miley started out soft while playing the piano, but soon stood up and belted out the rest of song with a lot of force. What did you think of Miley’s performance?
And for the last of the bottom three, Ryan went back to the group and pulled out Katie Stevens. But she didn’t sit on elimination row for long, as she was sent back to the group and given a “safety”.
The next performers to take the stage were new couple Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato, who sang their Friends for Change: Project Green song “Make a Wave.” The song is set to be featured in the upcoming Disney film “Oceans”.
“Good chemistry between these two onstage right now,” Ryan joked at the end of the performance.
And then it was time to get down to the nitty gritty. The elimination was upon Paige and Tim. Ryan announced it was Paige that was going home. And that also meant that Tim had secured a spot in the 2010 Summer Tour of the American Idol contestants.
Paige called her experience the “roller coast of a lifetime”. But, Simon Cowell quickly informed Paige that singing for her life in this case wouldn’t help her one bit.
“Regardless of you singing, you’re going to end up going home tonight,” Simon said. “It’s not working.” Ryan asked, “Is this unanimous?” Simon answered, “We’re 100 percent unanimous.”
Ouch, harsh! But we do have to admit that Paige’s version of Phil Collins hot song, “Against All Odds” really was not good.
