For all of you that are 30 something or above, remember the movie Teen Witch, starring Robyn Lively and Dan Gauthier?
Well, it’s coming back, in a revamped musical, starring Ashley Tisdale!
Ashley, 24, told reporters, “In the original, you know, Robyn Lively didn’t sing at all, even though other girls performed. But the studio said ‘Hey, you’re a singer, right?’ They reworked the script so it can be more of a musical. The plan is to start filming at the end of the year…you can expect it will be a lot more modern than the original.”
Released in 1989, Teen Witch is a story about a shy high school girl named Louise with a crush on the cutest, most popular guy in school. She quickly learns she’s a descendant of the infamous Salem witches and she herself has special powers. And of course, she does what any teenager would do- she makes herself popular and gets the guy.
Of course this means that Ashley is yet playing another teenage role. Do you think Ashley should start playing “older” roles? Or do you like Ashley playing the teenager in teeny bopper movies? Tell me your thoughts!
