PETA is pulling the plug on an ad campaign that featured the First Lady Michelle Obama, without her permission.
In the anti-fur ad, PETA used photos of Obama, Carrie Underwood, Oprah Winfrey and Tyra Banks.
A White House rep said that PETA never received authorization to use Obama’s image in the ad.
PETA president, Ingrid Newkirk said in a statement, “The fact is that Michelle Obama has issued a statement indicating that she doesn’t wear fur, and the world should know that in PETA’s eyes, that makes her pretty fabulous.”
After the media made it known of PETA’s unauthorized ad, Newkirk said that they wouldn’t have asked Obama’s consent for the ad because it knows that she can’t make such an endorsement.
