Julie Benz was out of work for like one minute. After her character, Rita was killed off in the season 4 finale of Dexter; Benz has another gig lined up. According to EW, Benz will be stopping by Wisteria Lane on Desperate Housewives.
Benz will reportedly be playing the role of Debbie, a stripper with a Master’s degree in education that chooses a different path then the classroom for her career.
Should be quite a change from her holier-than-thou character of Rita she played for the last 4 seasons. We were shocked and sad to see Rita go. Maybe she could “haunt” Dexter like Harry, and nag him from beyond about how to raise their son? Nah.
