Pro wrestler, Steve “Dr. Death” Williams, who was considered one of the top wrestlers in the world during the late ’80s and early ’90s, has passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Williams had been battling the disease for several years. In 2004, the cancer took its first blow when Williams had to go under the knife for throat cancer and would be clear for the next year. This allowed him to return to work for World Wrestling Entertainment as a trainer for new talent in the Ohio Valley developmental territory.
Williams played football and was a lineman at Oklahoma and a four-time All-American heavyweight wrestler.
Although he is probably best known for his tag team with Terry Gordy and was a major star in the ’90s for All Japan Pro Wrestling.
He was 49. RIP
We at Celebug would like to pass along our condolences to his family and friends.
