Alexa Ray Joel, daughter of Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley has been released from the hospital, after being admitted this weekend.
Alexa, 23, was admitted to St. Vincent’s Hospital in NYC on Saturday. Reportedly, Alexa Ray swallowed an unknown amount of pills in a possible suicide attempt.
Billy Joel, 60, did not go to the hospital to be with his daughter — he was at his home in Oyster Bay, Long Island, at the time — he reportedly told Newsday late Saturday night, “She is going to be fine.”
Alexa, being a songwriter, was among several celebrities scheduled to appear in a tree-lighting ceremony at the New York Stock Exchange this Thursday.
