Samantha Tumpach, 22, has been charged with a felony on Monday, December 2nd for trying to videotape the movie “Twilight Saga: New Moon” off a movie theater screen.
The young woman was charged with criminal use of a motion picture exhibition facility, a class four felony, after she was caught using a hand held video recorder to tape the movie at Muvico Theater in Chicago.
Apparently an usher saw the girl videotaping the movie and alerted management of the theater. The manager went down and saw her taping the movie, so they pulled her out of the theater and called the cops.
When they checked the camera, she already had two copies of the movie on the camera!
The theater has pressed charges and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office approved the charge of criminal use of a motion picture exhibition facility.
Tumpach faces up to three years in jail if found guilty.
