Tiger Woods is suddenly in the middle of a lot of speculation after an early morning car crash outside his Florida home on Friday.
At approximately 2:25 a.m. on Nov. 27, Tiger drove his Escalade into a fire hydrant and a tree just feet from his house in the gated community of Islesworth, Fla.
“When officers got there, he was laying in the street,” Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor said. “His wife had broken out the back window with a golf club to get into the vehicle and pull him out.”
Elin Nordegren, Tiger’s wife reportedly used two golf clubs to shatter the back window of Woods’s SUV so that she could get him out of the vehicle. “She was frantic, upset,” Saylor said in a briefing Friday night. “It was her husband laying on the ground.”
Tiger suffered lacerations on his lower and upper lips and blood in his mouth. Alcohol was reportedly not a factor.
Since the incident Tiger has cancelled and given many excuses to the police and has not been talking to them.
As of late, Tiger will not be playing any professional golf this year.
Tiger has cancelled his appeaancer at this week’s Chevron World Challenge in California, his last scheduled competition of 2009.
“I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week,” he wrote in a post on his website. “I am certain it will be an outstanding event and I’m very sorry that I can’t be there.”
