Carrie Underwood won tonight’s top honor at the 2009 Academy Of Country Music Awards held at the MGM Grand  in Las Vegas.

Carrie won Top Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year (a fan-voted category this year), beating out Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and George Strait.  During her acceptance speech, Carrie twirled around and gushed, “My baby, I wish you were here,” probably referring to her hockey player boyfriend Mike Fisher.

During the ceremony, Carrie also performed her hit song “I Told You So” in a gorgeous crimson dress, which overtook half of the stage.
