Dolly Parton got cut from the upcoming Hannah Montana movie, starring Miley Cyrus.
“I’m not in the movie,” Parton told the Associated Press. “I wish I had been.”
Dolly said the producers asked her if she would reprise her recurring TV role as Aunt Dolly on the big screen.
“I said I would love to!” she said. “I assumed that they were gonna be writing me a part.”
But her character wasn’t in the movie’s final script, she says.
The country singer says her decision to appear on the Disney show was “probably the best move” she ever made because it introduced her to a new generation.
The Hannah Montana movie opens in theaters April 10.
