Jett Travolta, the 16-year-old son of John Travolta and Kelly Preston died Friday morning.
The Travolta family arrived on a private plane Tuesday and had been vacationing at their home in the Old Bahama Bay resort community.
Jett died after falling ill and hitting his head at his family’s vacation home, police said Friday. A house caretaker found Jett, 16, unconscious in a bathroom late Friday morning. He was taken by ambulance to a Freeport hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to a statement from chief police superintendent Basil Rahming.
The teenager had last been seen going into the bathroom on Thursday and had a history of seizures, according to the statement. Police said they are planning an autopsy to determine the cause of death. It was apparant that he had hit his head on the bathtub.
“At this point, we know that John Travolta and Kelly Preston’s only son, Jett, had a seizure at around 10 a.m. this morning,” Travolta’s attorney Michael Ossi said. “All attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.”
Jett Travolta had a developmental disability that his parents, John Travolta and Kelly Preston, have linked to Kawasaki disease, an inflammatory disorder of the artery walls that most commonly occurs in young children and can lead to heart disease.
A spokeswoman for Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport said she could not release any information because of privacy concerns.

This is so awful and sad. I am a huge fan of John and Kelly. My heart goes out to them and their families. I can’t imagine, as a parent, what it would be like to lose a child, especially at such a young age. Condolences to the family.

Makes no difference if he is a Scientologist or a Buddist or a Catholic or a Mormon. He and Kelly loved their child and will never get over it. Im sure they did their best by their son. I have lost my child and it stays with you forever.
Opinions of their religion need to be saved for another day. On this day we need to be respecful of the fact these parents now have to bury their son and their daughter will grow up without her brother. To judge them is not our place. Not one of us is a doctor familiar with his health history, so we have no right to diagnose or state opinions as facts. My heart goes out to them all during this time. Be respectful, for you never know when tragedy will strike your lives.
Well I heard Tom Cruise is the Jesus of Scientology. He could go resurrect the Travolta’s son.
From what I’ve read, Scientologists aren’t against medicine. They are only against psychiatric medicine because they say they have better ways to treat being sad or anxious, etc…
What church someone attends doesnt matter now. What is importnat, they lost their son. The Travoltas are a loving family and are suffering right now. They need love and support, not criticism. Be human people- have sympathy.
